Are you the new Communicable Disease Manager Auckland Regional Public Health Service is looking for?

  • COVID-19 continues to loom large. But other communicable diseases like measles and tuberculosis remain with us too.
  • Here's your chance to lead the team that tackles these other diseases by providing vital treatment and support to people in our communities.
  • Flexibility, with full time or 0.8 FTE (32 hour week) options possible.

If the following sounds like you, the answer could be yes!

  • You have a health background in communicable disease or similar, and plenty of management experience
  • You are organised and can get out of the nitty-gritty to view things strategically
  • You have project management experience and welcome opportunities to lead projects as required
  • You are excited by the idea of working at New Zealand's largest public health unit
  • You relish the chance to provide strong and supportive leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of team of around 40.
  • You are passionate about leading people through change and uncertainty and savour opportunities to unleash your mentoring and coaching skills and experience
  • Complex environment? Competing priorities? No worries!
  • You can't wait to meander through picturesque Cornwall Park or zip to Newmarket for some retail therapy during your breaks
  • You have a health service management or public health qualifications but know this isn't essential
  • You are positively positive and LOVE being part of a friendly service, working in a professional and supportive environment
  • You want to make a difference and have a role in protecting the health and wellbeing of those living in Tamaki Makarau.

Based at Greenlane Clinical Centre, Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) is New Zealand's largest public health unit and works to promote and protect the health and wellbeing of all people living in Tamaki Makaurau

The action-orientated Communicable Disease Team at ARPHS provides services to treat and prevent infectious diseases such as measles and tuberculosis and other notifiable disease outbreaks. It achieves this by working together and alongside clients, family and whanau and other orgniasations.
