People who were at Auckland’s Domestic Airport restaurants and Avis Car Rental and Hire near Auckland Airport on November 5 between 5pm and 8pm are being asked to watch for COVID-19 symptoms. 

A person, who was a close contact of the COVID-19 case identified on Friday, has since been confirmed with COVID-19 and was infectious while at Auckland Domestic Airport on Thursday 5 November. Anyone at Avis Car Rental and Hire and Auckland Domestic Airport between 5pm and 8pm on this day is considered a casual contact. They should watch for symptoms and get tested if they feel unwell.

People who scanned the NZ COVID-19 Tracer app at the Avis Car Rental and Hire or Auckland Domestic Airport during these times should receive a notification, confirming they were there around the same time as the case.

Anyone who is concerned they may have symptoms of COVID-19 should call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 or their GP and get tested.  Please check the Where to Get Tested page on the ARPHS website for details about testing centres. 

The Case’s close contacts have been identified and are all self-isolating and are in the process of getting tested.

The symptoms of COVID-19 are a new or worsening cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of sense of smell, or fever.
