There are over 36 pages relating to different diseases in this section. Some of the diseases are ‘notifiable’ which means they have to be reported to the Medical Officer of Health. ARPHS receives notifications from general practitioners (GPs), laboratories and the public. We seek to identify where these diseases came from, stop their spread within our community, and prevent them from happening again.
Your first place to visit or contact if you are sick or concerned about your health is your GP, Healthline on 0800 611 116, an accident and medical clinic, or a hospital emergency department.
There are specific requirements for notifiable diseases in the Auckland region.
