Managing your private information for the BCG vaccine

All the information you provide will be used to help run the BCG vaccination programme.

Information from the consent form and details of each immunisation given will be recorded in the National Immunisation Register. This information will be treated with care to ensure Auckland District Health Board meets its obligations under the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.  Some information, such as information about reactions to the vaccine, will be shared with other organisations who provide health services such as the Centre for Adverse Reactions Monitoring. 

We collect your health information to provide you with appropriate care, to plan for and fund health services, to carry out teaching and research, and to monitor quality. We share this information with other health care providers and agencies involved in your/their care. We treat your information as confidential and ensure that it is kept secure and only accessed by authorised persons.

You have a right to request access to your records and request correction of the information. If you give us your permission, we will share your information with family and support people. We will supply your information to other agencies where required by law.
